At Current Effects, you”ll learn the best techniques and tools for troubleshooting, testing, and repairing wiring and components on motorcycle electrical systems. Whether working on sport bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, or touring bikes, our site is a resource for anyone interested in straight forward advice for working with their electrical systems. We’ll teach you how to use common electrical tools like test lights, digital multimeters, soldering irons, load testers, battery chargers, amperage clamps, and ignition coil and spark testers to hunt down whatever problem your having. And expect to see some articles on wiring motorcycle accessories, we like doing that too. Most people are visual learners so we’ll try to use pictures, videos, and diagrams to help explain these electrical systems whenever possible. Austin Miles

Austin Miles is an avid motorcyclist with formal technical training in motorcycle technology and hands on experience with race car fabrication, setup, and team management.  His passion to write and create is being directed towards improving and advancing education and insight into current electrical system design and operation.  An interest to teach and inspire has led him to combine his diverse backgrounds in automobile racing, computer systems, and management to provide an alternative educational resource using modern media communication platforms, tools, and techniques.

Tracy Martin

Tracy Martin has ridden all types of motorcycles for over 40 years. Vice president of Total Control Training, Inc., Tracy has been teaching the riding clinic since its inception in 1999 with Lee Parks (former editor of MCN and author of the book Total Control). Together Lee and Tracy have developed the curriculum, trained instructors and licensed riding schools in over 22 states that offer Total Control training. The new, Total Control Intermediate Riding Clinic is also a state approved motorcycle licensing class in Maryland, Arizona, Texas and Idaho. In addition, Total Control has been presented at all four branches of the U.S. military in the States as well as overseas. Lee and Tracy have taught the class in Japan, England and the Russian Federation. Tracy currently writes for Motorcycle Consumer News, RoadBike, American Iron and Dealer News magazines. Author of four books, including ”Motorcycle Electrical Systems, Troubleshooting and Repair” , Tracy also co-authored the Motorcycling Safety Foundation’s Guide to Motorcycling Excellence.
