Digital Multimeter Leads

DMM Leads
Typical Digital Multimeter Leads

A set of leads will come with almost any Digital Multimeter you might buy.  The more advanced ones, like the Fluke set below, comes with lots of specialty pieces that will make your work go a lot smoother and eliminate much of the frustration.  These leads allow you to swap specialty attachments on the end of the leads to pieces such as alligator clips, insulation piercers, or connector probes.  It’s great if you want to have one lead grounded to the battery with an aligator clip so you don’t have to hold it there, and have the other lead be an insulation probe or hook for testing for power to hard to reach electrical connectors.  These leads are interchangeable between brands of multimeters which is nice if you want the flexibility of different lead attachments to go with your budget meter, which is what you see in our videos.  When you choose to upgrade your digital multimeter then you’ll be able to continue using these same leads.

This is the set used in our videos and for most work, they are definitely worth the money if you plan on doing a lot of electrical work, or if you value your time and the comfort of your hands.
